The American Warrior Project |
"A Veteran is someone who at one point in their life wrote a blank check
made payable to the United States of America, |
The American Warrior Project was founded with the mission of building, restoring, updating or customizing vehicles for our wounded veterans. Who We Are: The American Warrior Project was conceived when three patriot businesses joined forces with a common goal, to pay back those hero’s who have sacrificed for our countries benefit. American Warrior Garage: The American Warrior Garage is a veteran run, start-up 501© (3) nonprofit automotive restoration shop located in Bremen, GA. Scott Jones was the first of the group to form a nonprofit for restoring classic cars, trucks and hot rods for the benefit of our wounded warriors and veterans. The shop also provides on-the -job training to Veteran Apprentices in Weldin Metal Fabrication, Body Work, Rust Repair, Automotive Electronics and Mechanics. In March of 2019 Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage did a Garage Rehab for AWG to assist them in teaching men and women transitioning out of the service, the skills they need to become successful. Jimmys Customs: Jimmys Customs is a classic / custom car restoration shop based in Wellington Colorado. Jim Poole, the founder has been restoring cars for over 40 years. His work has appeared in numerous publications as well as winning multiple awards over the years from around the country. Jim, while never serving in the armed forces, has always been a patriot and wanted to give back to those who have served our country in a way that he is able. When he met up with Scott from American Warrior Garage and Brett from American Grains, he found those with a common goal to fill a need for our veterans that they were able to fulfill. American Grains: American Grains American Grains is a veteran owned and operated shop which builds handcrafted wooden American flags and donates a portion of the profits back to veteran causes. Brett Draxten served many years in the military and feels the need to give back to his fellow veterans. When he and William Folmer of American Grains, came together with Jim Poole and Scott Jones to build cars for veterans they knew this was the avenue for giving back. Needs: While the guys formed The American Warrior Project with a common goal to serve our veterans, the cost of realizing this goal is great. The only way to meet our goals and help our veterans is through donations and/or sponsorships from businesses and individuals. Whether the need is for a customized vehicle for a wounded veteran, restoring a classic car for a veteran who is no longer able to do the work themselves or training for a career outside of the service, the funds need to be available to get the job done. The American Warrior Project attends as many car shows and events as we are able, selling t-shirts, hats, handcrafted wooden flags and coasters and other merchandise to fund the project and raise awareness to the needs of our veterans. We can also receive donations through the company’s websites, by phone, mail or by corporate sponsorships offered to the program. While many charities give back only a fraction of the money donated to their cause, American Warrior Project intends to put the maximum funds donated towards the veteran’s project with minimal overhead and complete transparency. Our disabled veterans have sacrificed everything for our freedom. Please consider investing in our veterans and offering them the automotive services they need a helping hand with, or a future that they deserve through training in the automotive field. |
